Pinnaplasty (Ear Pinning / Reshaping)

Pinnaplasty, also known as Otoplasty (ear reshaping or ear pinning), is a cosmetic surgical procedure that is designed to reshape the ears and improve their appearance. The procedure can be used to address a variety of concerns, including overly large or protruding ears, misshapen ears, or ears that are uneven in size or shape.

The procedure is typically performed under local anaesthesia or general anaesthetic and involves making small incisions behind the ears. Through these incisions, reshaping of the cartilage and tissue in the ears to create a more natural and symmetrical appearance. In some cases, additional tissue or cartilage may be harvested from the patient’s own body to help achieve the desired shape.

Pinnaplasty can be a highly individualized procedure, as the shape and size of the ears must be carefully tailored to the patient’s unique facial features and aesthetic goals.

Recovery from otoplasty can vary depending on the extent of the procedure, but most patients can expect some swelling and bruising for several days to a few weeks after the surgery. It’s important to follow your surgeon’s post-operative instructions carefully, which may include wearing a protective bandage over the ears for a few days to help support the healing process.

Pinnaplasty can be a highly effective way to improve the appearance of the ears and create a more harmonious facial balance. Contact us to arrange an appointment with Mr Kumar who can help you understand your options and make an informed decision about your treatment.
