Face lift

A facelift, medically known as rhytidectomy, is a popular surgical procedure aimed at improving the visible signs of aging. As we age, our skin loses elasticity and begins to sag, while the underlying muscles also become weaker, resulting in wrinkles, folds, and jowls. Facelift surgery can address these issues by removing excess fat, tightening and lifting the muscles beneath the skin, and repositioning sagging skin.

Facelift surgery is often combined with other procedures such as blepharoplasty, a brow lift, or a neck lift to achieve a more harmonious and balanced look. A skilled plastic surgeon will aim to rejuvenate the face while maintaining the patient’s unique facial features.

During the surgery, incisions are made around the ears and the hairline, allowing the surgeon to access the underlying muscles and fat. The skin is then carefully lifted, and excess fat is removed or repositioned. The muscles are tightened, and the skin is pulled taut, giving the face a more youthful and refreshed appearance. The incisions are then carefully closed, resulting in minimal visible scarring.

While a facelift can provide dramatic results, it is important to have realistic expectations and understand that the surgery cannot stop the aging process altogether. However, a well-performed facelift can make patients look years younger, increase their confidence, and improve their overall quality of life.
